Dare to get spooked during the third annual Historical Haunted Tour in Truckee, CA on Thursday, Oct. 20 and Friday, Oct. 21, 2011. Ticket sales, limited to just two hundred attendees, are now available at www.truckeehistorytour.org.

Covering Truckee's most fascinating sites, the 2011 tour will entertain guests from near and far with spooky legends and unsolved mysteries. Begin at Moody's Bistro & Lounge with a glass of wine and experience downtown like never before. Expect attention-grabbing stories and tales you've never heard from characters of days gone by. Featured sites will include the Tourist
Club, Cabona's, the International Order of Odd Fellows and Masonic Hall, Train Depot and Art Impressions at Truckee Mercantile.

Wondering who will take care of your children while you're out on the town? The KidZone Museum will offer Halloween Science with Professor Stickeybottom and dinner (pizza, milk, and veggies) for ages 5+ from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 20.

If you're unable to secure a place on this year's tour, support the Truckee Donner Historical Society and Trails and Vistas by joining the fun at Moody's where raffle tickets will be on sale Oct. 20 and 21.

Prizes include a growing list of tantalizing treats including a two night stay at The Richardson House, an overnight at the River Street Inn, 2012 Trails & Vistas art hike tickets, gift baskets from Squeeze In, a family photo session with Johnstown Studios, wine tasting for two at The Pour House, historic Truckee photos, book packages, Scraps' "Pampered Pooch" basket, KidZone Museum annual membership, and a private Donner Summit walking tour with published author and local historian Mark McLaughlin. One hundred percent of the funds raised from the raffle go directly to Trails & Vistas and the Truckee Donner Historical Society.

Tour organizers are also offering an enhanced experience for any attendee who shows up in costume. Prizes will be awarded for the best historic costume each evening. In the last two years, the Historical Haunted Tour has raised over $6,000 for the Truckee Donner Historical Society and Trails & Vistas.
