Success at CLA is more than test scores - CLA measures success based on academic self-esteem and attitude as well as classroom performance. The Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS), a standardized test used by private schools nationwide, measures achievement across academic disciplines.

CUSTOM LEARNING ACADEMY STUDENTS CONSISTENTLY PERFORM ABOVE GRADE LEVEL
Private K-12 school attributes superior academic performance to 10 to 1 student to teacher ratio, exceptional educators, rigorous curriculum and stress-free environment.

Truckee, CA - Custom Learning Academy (CLA), a private Kindergarten through 12th grade school in Truckee, CA, takes a highly personalized approach to education by offering rigorous national standards-based curriculum tailored to the individual needs of students. Today CLA announces higher than grade level national standardized test scores across elementary and secondary grades.

CLA's unique learning environment focuses on individual academic success and self-esteem. Students' academic performance combined with extracurricular offerings and a nurturing learning and teaching environment have led to an increase in full and part time enrollment since the school's inception in 2005.

"We've created a place where learning happens. We teach students how to learn in a supportive environment that promotes academic performance and self-esteem and fuels success in college placement and beyond," explains Lisa Crosby, founder and director of CLA. "Custom Learning Academy's Iowa scores have been stellar each year confirming our school's rigorous and engaging 21st century design is working. Keep in mind, we accept students of all academic levels, but we do filter for the ability to adhere to our strict behavior contract."

Fourth year of outstanding Iowa test scores confirm CLA's approach. CLA measures success based on academic self-esteem and attitude as well as classroom performance and the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS), a standardized test used by private schools nationwide to measure achievement across academic disciplines. The CLA scores reported below are class averages in the form of grade equivalents. A grade level equivalent of 8.4 means students are performing at the level of students who are four months into eighth grade. The Iowa composite score blends Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies and Science scores to determine an overall skill level.

Custom Learning Academy's 2011-2012 Iowa composite scores show academic mastery exceeding grade level across all grades. CLA attributes its' astoundingly high national standardized test scores to the school's attention to mastery of concepts, 10 (or less) to 1
student to teacher ratio, outstanding educators, and an involved executive director who collaborates with teachers and students on a weekly basis to guide success.

Every student at CLA is performing at or above grade level.
