Lake Tahoe Helicopter Tours

The Lake Tahoe Helicopter Tours that are available are a fantastic way to see the gorgeous scenery of the Truckee and Lake Tahoe area! You can take a tour out of the Truckee Tahoe Airport in Truckee, and or out of the South Lake Tahoe Airport in South Lake Tahoe.

Pacific North Helicopters

Pacific North Helicopters is based out of the South Lake Tahoe Airport in South Lake Tahoe. They are also now offering rides from the Truckee Tahoe Airport!  Below you can find one of their video's to give you an idea of the trip.

I definitely think that if I was going to take a helicopter tour over Lake Tahoe, that I would want to do it while there is snow on the mountains.

Here is another great video after a recent snowstorm in 2012:

They offer a bunch of different tours:

  • Emerald Bay Tour - tour of Emerald Bay, Fallen Leaf lake and Vikingsholm Castle.
  • Lake Tahoe Waterfalls Tour - tour of Emerald Bay and Eagle Falls, Cascade Falls, Fallen Leaf Falls and Echo Lake, and the 800 ft Horsetails Falls and the granite faces of Lover's Leap.
  • Lakewide Tour
  • Sand Harbor Tour - tour of Sand Harbor State Park as well as Glenbrook Bay, Secret Harbor, Skunk Harbor, and Chimney Beach. (Sand Harbor is my favorite Lake Tahoe Beach, so this would be a great tour!)
  • Sunset Tour - an hour long tour around Lake Tahoe at Sunset.
  • Zephyr Cove Tour - tour of Lake Tahoe's South Shore

Please check out their website to obtain the current information, rates, and times: https://pnh-us.com/

They also offer unique weddings done in the air, guided heli-skiing, heli skydiving, and fishing expeditions. In addition, they offer corporate and group events for special occasions, Basic and Advanced Flight Training, and Aerial Photography and Filming.

Things to Bring with you!

  • Bring a Camera - Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains can best be seen by a helicopter, plane, or hot air balloon, so be sure and takes lots of pictures and videos!
  • A Friend! Tours have a 2 person minimum.
