Woodward Tahoe, located at Boreal, is almost complete, and is due to open on June 10, 2012! It will be a premier learning center for youth, and a training center for high level and professional action sports athletes in snowboard, ski, skate and BMX.
There will be a Woodward Tahoe Grand Opening Celebration on June 9, 2012 from 12:00pm - 5:00pm for professional and amateur athletes to skate and ride the newest action sports training facility on the west coast. Top athletes stopping by to check out the massive new compound will include freeskier Tanner Hall, BMX rider Ryan Nyquist skateboarder Curren Caples and snowboarder Chas Guldemond, who will be part of the pro demos, open skate sessions, events, music and more.
At the Grand Opening, the Boreal Mountain Resort terrain park will also have one chairlift open for a Summer Shred Day for snowboarders and skiers for a $25 day rate, or free to those who purchase 2012-13 season lift passes from 9:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m.
The Woodward Camp Foundation provides scholarships in all sports each summer. These awards are distributed to deserving individuals, who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend Woodward Tahoe.
What will this 33,000 square foot facility offer:
Digital Media Area with summer week-long camps in Video Production and Digital Photography Program.
Foam Pits - used to practice aerial awareness, and learning new tricks while providing a cushioned landing.
Outdoor park and pipe riding into summer
