The Meadows and Buckhorn Ridge Neighborhood

I love The Meadows Neighborhood! It is a gated subdivision of Glenshire, where my two kids and I lived for four years. Our house backed up to this neighborhood, and we frequently took our dogs for walks through the neighborhood. I would have loved to have been able to afford a home there!

The front entrance to The Meadows and Buckhorn Ridge neighborhood is located at the top of the Hirshdale Hill, with easy access to Highway 80 from the Hirshdale exit, although the hill can be a challenge during the winter.

Above is one of my favorite homes in the neighborhood.

This area is very peaceful and quiet, and because it is a gated community, there is little traffic, so it is a great place for hiking and bike riding, especially when you have kids and dogs with you! We often would see people out snowshoeing, or cross country skiing through the neighborhood after a snow storm.

Some of the lots on Stallion Way and Buckhorn Ridge Court just have spectacular views of Boca Reservoir, the Truckee River, and the surrounding mountains, that are especially gorgeous in the winter time!

Many of the homes in this neighborhood, like the one pictured above are set back from the road which offers the residents privacy.

The house above was also a favorite of mine with all of the windows. Because the homes are all custom homes, there is a great variety of styles, with most of them keeping with the classic mountain style that blends so naturally with the terrain.

As you can tell from the home above, there is plenty of open space around the homes in the neighborhood. You can see your neighbors, but they are not right on top of you!

I've always wanted to live in a log cabin home, and so the house above was one that I had loved, especially with the awesome covered front porch. They always had beautiful flowers around the home in the spring and summer months.

The Meadows Home Owners Association

There is a Home Owners Association for the Meadows with dues  that covers street maintenance.
